NBA x-mas tournament
Together with Stad Kortrijk and the organisation of the annual international X-Mas basketball tournament, which takes place in Kortrijk, We Are Esports organised a series of gaming tournaments. More specifically, the game NBA2K23 was chosen for this tournament series to engage the local community but also the basketball, gaming and esport communities that love this game.
In Belgium’s first lan tournament series with NBA2K23, WeAreEsports aimed at a fun event with a great experience for the players, fans and spectators that also has a competitive side to it as well.
The tournament kicks off with an influencer battle in Kortrijks christmas market. 8 influencers from the sports world, esports community and well-known Kortrijk residents compete against each other. The mayor and alderman of Sport are also venturing into a digital basketball match.
The tournament consists of 4 qualifying tournaments throughout the city of Kortrijk with a grand final on a big screen in De Lange Munte. This esports tournament runs alongside the annual international basketball tournament that also takes place in de Lange Munte.
